I watched Bishop Cruz state, on national TV, that the President should be careful (in pushing forth the Reproductive Health Bill). The Church has stood for 2000 years. Should the President were to collide with the Church head on, he will be crushed.
But — 2000 years worth of traditions is a heavy burden. The present Church carries those years on its shoulders. Won’t it – an institution governed by humans who admittedly do make mistakes – be also crushed under the weight?
Christ taught us how to Love. If anything, should the Church have not seen fit to set limitations on its followers, would not the only “law” God, through Christ, commanded of us is to just Love?
When the Church or its institutional members excommunicates a person, does it do so out of Love? If it does out of love for the Church and its teachings, do they not go against Christ and God Himself who asked us to Love without boundaries?
